Writers on Fire Poetry Workshop hosted by local authors Carol Thornton and Nikki Tate is coming to the CPL this November!

Why should you come to this workshop? You already own the most important things in a writer’s toolbox: the life you have experienced, and your own way of looking at the world.

Writing a poem starts with putting one word on a page, then another. Anyone can do it. We’ll talk about some elements of poetry, the sounds and rhythms of language, and how to convey a feeling.

We’ll read and we'll write. You’ll have the opportunity to get feedback on your work. And mostly, we want to have fun! So there will be treats—and prizes.

This is a three part workshop that will take place on Monday evenings over a three week period (Monday November 21st, 28th, and December 5th). By registering for this event you are signing up for all three dates. While you will benefit the most from attending all three sessions, it is not mandatory.
